Reviews
Review by: Booklist Magazine - October 15, 1997
"These three well-selected read-alongs will provide much listening and reading pleasure for young listeners and
readers. Narrators are accomplished and provide expressive, interesting renderings. Musical accompaniment and
sound effects enhance the readings, and page-turning signals are helpful but unobtrusive. Eggs Mark the Spot
presents Mary Jane Auch's twist on the Golden Goose tale, which features a talented hen whose eggs become
artwork. Kimmel's I Took My Frog to the Library is a standout. This circular tale with a twist at the end will be
enjoyed over and over by its young audience. The narrator's expressive reading of David Adler's excellent Picture
Book of Rosa Parks makes the selection intriguing as well as informative. High-quality listening for school, library,
or at-home use."
